Pratt, Diggins and Smith – Oh my

Filed under: Mike Flynn — mikeflynn @ 12:05 am

Yes, the Tierra Ruffin-Pratt (#13, BSBB) signing was nothing new since her fellow Nike Skills Academy and summer time team mates were chatting during the summer that she was going to North Carolina anyway. I spoke to her travel team coach, the famous Boo Williams last night and he confirmed that she was going to decide today (Monday, Nov. 17th).  The two schools he mentioned were North Carolina and Rutgers.  I could have written that last night but nah, why jump the gun and have people use it as a tool to harrass the kid about her choice.  Now that it’s official it’s not much of a surprise.

The other two signigns that people are focusing on are guard Syklar Diggins (#2 BSBB) and wing Shennieka Smith (#4 BSBB). Word on the street is that Diggins is intrigued by Stanford but is finding it hard to leave home (Notre Dame).  If this wasn’t a hard choice then it would have been done earlier.  The agony of telling the two losing schools she won’t be attending is probably making her crazy at this point.  Smith, who is heading back from Syracuse tonight, will cover her choices with St. Michael’s Academy head coach Robert Paschal and assistant Lauren Best tomorrow morngina and decide later in the afternoon.  As I noted earlier, this is down to Kentucky and St. John’s (away or home).
