The Weekend Action from the Prime Events Shootout in Absecon

 

Saturday, February 14, action looked like this:

 

Sacred Heart (Vineland) beat Lenape 60-54. Sacred Heart’s Ashley Durham led all scorers with 33 points while Tyesha Simmonds chipped in 14 points/10 rebounds. While Christina Foggie had 19 points for Lenape, Advia Campbell also contributed 12 points.

 

Ocean City beat Christ the King 55-52. Ocean City’s Shannon Lane had 17 points/9 rebounds, also Sarah Gibbs and Kelsey Boylan chipped in respectively with 13 points and 11 points. Christ the King was led by Bria Smith’s 29 points/12 rebounds, while Geliesa George added 10 points/7 assists.

 

Neptune beat Eastern 79-53. Sehmonyeh Allen led Neptune with 24 points and Shakena Richardson chipped in 13 points/14 assists, additionally Morgan Thompson had 11 points and Marley Mauvais had 10 points/7 rebounds. Eastern was led by Genevieve Okoro with 25points/12 rebounds, Morgan Halbruner added 12 points and Kerri Aiken added 10 points.

 

Bishop Eustace 53-49 over Trenton. Bishop Eustace was led by Victoria Soboeinski with 17 points and Ashley Margraf with  12 points, while Ashley Hines led Trenton with 21 points, kyra Dayon added 14 points, and Queen-Tiye Jackson had 10 points/8 rebounds.

 

Sunday, February 15, action looked like this:

 

Holy Spirit edged Atlantic City 33-30. A balance attack led by Jesse Frasier’s  points, carried Holy Spirit to victory. Holy Spirit was up 30-13 after three (3) quarters, but a 17-3 fourth quarter run by Atlantic City had Holy Spirit back on their heels, as they held on for a 33-30 victory.

 

Trenton Catholic over John F. Kennedy (NY), 52-35. Trenton Catholic was led by Jacquel Saunders 11 points, Alvid Clemons and Nakaida Monroe-Thomas’s 10 points each, Briyona Canty also contributed 8 points. While JFK got contributions from Iraida Santiago with 14 points and Robyn Jenkins with 10 points.

 

Middle Township held on to beat Absegami 57-54. Middle Township led 21-12 after the first quarter, 33-26 at the half, then fell behind 44-40 after the third quarter, and then used a 17-10 fourth quarter run to capture the 5-54 victory. Middle Township was led by Jamara Gonnam and Jasmine Moore with 15 points each. While Dana Keisler led Absegami with 24 points.

 

Egg Harbor beat short handed Saint Francis Prep 54-49. Jill Shaner had 26 points and Isabella Somers added 17 points for Egg Harbor. Saint Francis Prep was led by Aliya Donn by 28 points.

St. Joseph (Hammonton) holds off Oakcrest beat Oakcrest 43-39. Jade Howard led St. Joseph with 18 points, while Daimus Ortiz led Oakcrest with 23 points.

 

Monday, February 16, action looked like this:

 

St. Peter’s beat Trenton 49-37. St. Peter’s led 18-8 after first quarter and 21-16 at the half and steadily increased their lead throughout the second half. St. Peter’s was led by Victoria Jones with 13 points and Christine Kline with 10 points. Trenton was led by Ashley Hines with 12 points.

 

Colts Neck holds off Camden Catholic 65-55. Colts Neck led 31-23 at half and held off a fourth quarter run by Camden Catholic to win 65-55. Brook Hampton led Colts Neck 18 points, while Lauren Clarke and Emily Laurence each contributed 15 points each. Nicole Angelo led Camden Catholic with 14 points and Serifat Junaid contributed 13 points and Shantel McNeil added 10 points.
