DeMya Walker joined on with Blue Star in the spring of 2017. After a successful playing career both at the college and professional levels, we are excited to help DeMya transition into the next phase of her career.
DeMya started her playing career in Italy after graduating from college in 1999. She then signed on with the Portland Fire for three seasons. In 2003 she then signed on with the WNBA Sacramento Monarchs where she spent five seasons and helped lead them to the 2005 Championship. She then finished out her WNBA career with the Connecticut Suns & the New York Liberty.
Prior to her professional days - Walker was selected to play with the USA Basketball team in the 1999 Pan American Games where the team took home the Bronze Medal.
The University of Virginia graduate finished 9th in career points, and the all time leader in FG %, as well as career blocks - which at the time put her 12th in NCAA history.
The New Jersey native presently resides in Texas.
